I've heard they had been experimenting with teleportation for some time...

Imagine a world where teleportation was possible...that seems like a whole lot of freedom to me...I'm sure 'they'd' find a way to shut it down...or regulate it.

Well, way back in the 60's Einstien worked on a military project that involved spacial displacement and optical refraction. In the experiment the created a "test device" and loaded it onto an tank (I think) and went off into greenland to test it. From what I remember of the 28 scientists that went out only 6 came back and all of those 6 eventually committed suicide.

All of this work was loosely based off of the more commonly known "PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT" that transported a destroyer 400 miles in '43
