Doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. First heard of in 1999 and fixed. So.... the deal is what? That you are trying to somehow show that windows cash cow is better than an open source field?
It was said a lot in the comments... use something a lot and it gets popular and vulnerabilities will be found. Although it seems to have already been caught and fixed. Linux, Red Hat, and Fedora are STILL better in my opinion for the freedom the usert has to block everything coming in or going out....Security is awesome in the open source os.
Thank you....

Actually, I say let the M$ fan boy's have their POS Internet Exploder. The more of those idiots that insist it's the best the better. That way, it is far less likely for spyware, adware, etc to be written across multiple browser architectures.
Yeah, sure it was "some bug" but I haven't seen a bug yet with the Mozilla.* web browsers that allow someone to completely fuck up your computer (ADODB save to file... heard of it? Go look it up) and take complete control of your system. Yeah, sure you can do that across telnet but guess what? I don't have telnet servers installed on ANYTHING I own. I ONLY use SSH and I ALWAYS upgrade. You are not going to be able to break into my systems.
And before the "So easy to use no wonder it's number 1" people start rattling off about how fast windows releases patches, let me add that I've never seen a UNIX based system patch UNPATCH another vulnerability. Using Linux I have the ability to customize the OS anyway I choose. Any service, any function, GUI or not... firewall, IDS, VPN.... I do just about anything and never have to open my wallet, or face spyware sites to get a serial number.
Now.. the advantages of Windows.
Thank you Bill Gates for making a Honey Pot operating system that people are willing to use despite it's poor workmanship. Also, thank you for keeping the attention of hackers focused on you. You have help make Linux/UNIX safe and secure. I know as long as Windows is around, people are going to try to hack it, write viruses/worms for it, and take advantage of it's many vulnerabilities.
You would think with as much money as is being charged for that operating system, it might be even ALMOST as secure as one that doesn't charge a cent for.

Um.....take some prozac, or some Valium guys, I just saw the link, and posted it.
I assume most of you use, mozilla/firefox, so I thought it might be helpful. I didn't even read the entire article.

you might just be better off to go ahead and set your WinXP cd on fire.

I'd rather burn anything I have related to linux. Actually, the other day when I cleaned my computer area, I threw out two red hat 8 cd's and an old Corel Linux cd that were collecting dust on my shelf. It felt liberating cracking the discs in half. I think I even saw some tortured souls fly out of the broken pieces too.

Holy crap.... you would think that any OS or web browser software writer worth his or her weight would create something with a little less bugs in it. Jesus.. reading that from Phaed was like... ok here's a fix, but we forgot that this other thing could happen too, so you're still f'ed if you surf... so here's another patch... butwait.. stil more to get f'ed....
Stupid winblows sofware writers...

Yep. and don't EVEN get me started on IIS. I see more IIS problems than IE. (about 7:1 ratio). Plus the latest group of SSL exploits, MS SQL, and all the ways one can gain CMD Shell access. There are about 4 vulnerabilities that give you access to command line Windows with elevated or administrator level access.

Ok...so Windows has its flaws....but Linux has its patent infringements. 283 of them.

This is my favorite line:
The OSRM plans to keep its list of potential patent infringements to itself, as publishing them could open up a Pandora's box of legal action...

Oh fer the love of Pete..... it's open source.... Fer cryin' out loud Torvalds has already announced that any creations for LInux must be documented before released so as not to "INFRINGE" on anyones "COPYRIGHT" of intellectual material.
Whatever....... patent infringements....... Code is code if you ask me...
